I seem to do a lot of waiting and hoping in life. I think this started at an early age with playing board games with family and friends. You hoped you'd get that get out of jail free card, or some prime property in Monopoly before someone else did, or owning all four railroads. Thus you waited for the right opportunities and timing. One of my favorite games to play was Battleship. For some reason I took to planning military strategy. An artist with a military yen. Go figure.
But as positive as those skills at board games made a person (as a former teacher/tutor, I can see how playing them improved a person's mind.), I think there is a downside to spreading waiting and hoping all across one's life. There are just some things that you shouldn't put your hope in or wait for. Because if you do, it could lead you to nowhere and to passing up other viable options that you are better suited for. I think discernment and wisdom need to be added to the mix for a better outcome. And ultimately greater happiness.
Something to ponder further.
