I grew up with parents who bred larger Bull Mastiffs (adult males 100-145+lbs, when fit). I have a Golden with arthritis and a Great Dane. My two tips from all of that... socialize, socialize, socialize and the "nothing is free" mentality.

Oh yes. Bishop is a dog trainer We will socialize once all shots are finished but only with trained dogs.

I agree socialize, be it dog parks ( fir hanging with other puppers) , walks around town, and going to stores ( just make sure they are pet friendly before going). Mine puppers LOVE going to Lowe's and the scrap yard so much we cant even say the word without actually going there.

Heβs not ready for outings yet as heβs not finished with His shots. We do not go to dog parks. We will socialize with dogs we know the temperament of. Our other dog is a SD so we know all about what stores let any dog in.
