Dark tendrils, . . . like her claws, . . .pulled at Ariel - calling her ... they had been for days. . . Forbidden pleasures . . . Lust . . . .their bodies entwined . . . "It is forbidden!" . . . Ariel put on her robe and composed herself - "yes father" she said sarcastically, pulling the door open and heading towards the vanity in one motion - her irritation apparent.
"Your brother is taking 20 of our best up to Silveron" "and!?" She snipped, brushing the knots from her long red hair. "I thought perhaps . .." "well you thought wrong father" she hated this conversation last night, and she hated it even more this morning.

Silveron mountain was the last known hideout of the night wraiths - "dejuivere'" - The damned. . . . Where "she" was . . . .

"Why cant you just leave them alone !? - there cant be, what - 40 or 50 of them left! They will die off soon enough". Her disgust with the subject becoming more apparent with every brush stroke. "This has to end Ariel! - these . . . Creatures! . . . Have been . . " she spun around "Have been what father!? - there hasnt been a sighting in years!" "This has to end!" He stormed out, slamming the door.
"God! I just! . . . Aaahh! . . ."
Ariel knew she had to act quickly -
"I will go with Rodrick, if we can go in 2 days" "why 2 days? He is assembling the men as we speak!" "You want me to be "involved" father? I will go in 2 days!" She left the room as quickly as she had entered, leaving king Lenair baffled and speechless. "You" he snapped his fingers "go tell my son to wait" "yes sire" - the attendant scurried out.

The road to Silveron mountain lay just East of the kingdom, 26 miles as the raven fly's - 17 to Bareden hold, to the south. Ariel slipped out unseen, - Willow, a beautiful 3 year old black mare, every bit of 17 hands, was eager to run!
"Come on girl!" She clicked, - and off they raced into.the dark night.

The Dejuivere' were an ancient breed, mostly human. . . . Part . . . .something else. They are a peaceful race, or at least were - driven to fierce defense, driven into hiding. They were near extinct, and if King Lenair had his wish . . .
"Creatures!" Ariel mocked. "If you werent so blinded by fear father . . . "
Willow and Ariel flew through the night like a strong, steady wind. The road, though a long ride, especially at night, was fairly straight with an incline the last 3 miles or so. Ariel had secretly made this trip many times. Her mind drifted back to the last time she was with Zealia . . . "Heyah! Hurry Willow girl!, hurry!"

"You should not be here now Princess" he said in a slow, warning tone. Arms crossed, standing watch. "I must see her" she pleaded, still catching her breath.
Jwazzah did not like his daughter being friendly with the daughter of his sworn enemy - but he knew how Ariel felt, knew she was not evil like the rest of them.
"You should not have come on this night, . . . You have 1, maybe 2 hours at the most . . ." He stepped aside and held his hand out towards the entrance .

They locked into a tight embrace, "God I have missed you!" Her body felt so alive in that moment, as they held each other - almost magical. The energy between them was electric. . .
Zealia's tail began to swish - a tell she could not hide - "what is it my love?" Ariel whispered softly
"You should not have come tonight . . . . it is tonight" . . . she pulled back and looked deep into her eyes "the cycle, . . . it is tonight" .Zealia held out her arm to show her - it had already begun . . . . . Ariel's eyes fell . . . she had forgotten. . .
"I dont care! I need you!" Ariel pulled her close - "You must go" Zealia pleaded, "you will be in danger if you stay". "You are mine and I am yours, I am staying with you!" Ariel slipped out of her dress, and began to remove Zealia's cloak. "I cannot . . . You dont know . . . you might . . . " Ariel kissed her hard, "I need you!, im staying!"
Zealia let her cloak fall the rest of the way . . . .
