I no longer follow conventional religious practices, and I certainly mean no disrespect to anyone who does.

This poem has always deeply touched my heart - not necessarily in the context intended

How many out there tear up when reading this?

There is someone longing to be carried, and someone longing to carry . . . For everyone.

The lonely and broken hearted must believe and hold on to faith.

Your sun will shine once again.

Literate Lycan(dom male) - I have long remembered and felt the same way about this parable. It resonates within me as to many things. Thanks for reminding me and for blogging this!

Cherry2000(sub female) - This has always been one of my favorites. It's the silent help that we get, the help that goes unnoticed because we are so focused on our issues that can make all the difference. Thank you for sharing.

Curiousmind(sub female){Owned} - This is the first time i read through this poem and it did truly touch my heart!
It spoke to me a lot as it is exactly what I felt when i went through the most challenging season of my life only a short few months ago.
Whether it is faith or a real person, it is vital to have that anchor we can lean on during trials and hardships in our lives.
Thank you for sharing, Jack!

There is a shift happening - it is my belief, people like us, in this community - people that live life a little bit more intensely - will feel it the most.
I am glad my post helped you. ☺

A rose's sir(dom male) - Its a great poem and Always reminded me of this quote From Firefly.
The Message (2003)

"Tracey: When you can't run, you crawl, and when you can't crawl - when you can't do that...

Zoë: You find someone to carry you."

Water Lioness(sub female) - I had read this poem previously, and always presumed it spoke of God and Man's reliance on him in times of need. Now that I have looked a bit further into the BDSM Community, I think it could just as well apply to the exceptional relationship that develops between Dom and sub. The intricate, intense interdependence that, if they are very lucky, develops between the two. Likewise at first, I thought it spoke of the Dom, and His care and support of a sub in need. But upon reflection, depending on circumstance, it could be either partner doing the carrying.
