This world has an amazing spectrum of vastly different cuisines, yes? From squid balls to snake legs, I mean omg!

I understand you resource within your resources, right? If you live in a very wet warm climate near water - you eat a butt-ton of rice and fish. If you live in an arid, harsh climate, you eat scorpion and snake. (no offense intended toward anyone ?)

If you live in the "bread basket" . . . Well . . .

So anyway, ive lived a fairly sheltered life, all things considered - the most "unusual" thing ive ever eat'n was sardines (on a dare) and anchovies (because I didnt know what they were)  and btw, why in bobs name would you put that on pizza!!??

(again, no offense intended . . . You twisted bastards)

?

So I will pose this blog question - blestion? ?

What is the most "unusual" thing you've eat'n?

(and no, shrooms dont count ?)

happy Saturday peeps ??

The Kinky Poet(other male) - I'm embarrassed to say Jack my pallet is very bland. I really eat only the things I eat growing up. Great question I'm so sorry I'm 60 years old and never even tried a Curry lol

HeyLittleOne - What a fun question! I'll be interested to see other people's answers, but for me personally, I'll try pretty much anything at least once. I find it rewarding to be open-minded when it comes to trying new food, because you'll often find things you like even if you may not have wanted to try it initially.

The only thing I can say with one hundred percent certainty I will not try is brains - I don't relish the thought (all pun intended) of consuming something that essentially makes a being who they are, and I'm also terrified of prions.
(Sidenote: that's also a large deterrent from cannibalism, if someone needed another one for whatever reason.)

To name a few interesting ones, I've tried eel, quail eggs, roasted duck, and whole octopus at a hotpot restaurant. I've had dried whole fish, offal sausage, and caviar from my local European store. An African restaurant recently opened nearby and I tried their fufu and peanut butter stew. I didn't dislike any of them.

The only foods I have eaten and absolutely, positively, most certainly will never eat again of my own free will are lamb and celery. Vile. Horrendous. Dare I say, blasphemous.

Also, do shrooms count?

Jack in the box -
No young lady, shrooms do not count ?
Butt ☝️
Celery!!?? What in bobs name were you thinking?? ???

But yes, some people such as yourself, are adventerous indeed.
So is it strictly 'human' brains that are off the menu? ?
I hope you are having a dry, and fantastic weekend ?
As always, I appreciate you ???

HeyLittleOne - Aw, heck... just figures they wouldn't ?

I surely committed the ultimate cardinal sin by ingesting that wretched green water stick. I was tricked, I tell ya! Bamboozled!

Brains of all variety are a hard limit for me, even served with some fava beans and a nice chianti. Be it mad cow or kuru, I don't want any of them, thank you very much.
They probably taste like chicken anyway, so I'm not missing much.

I appreciate you, as well, dear friend ?♡
May your weekend be warm and Hannibal-induced-encephalopathy free ??

Satindragon{Not Lookin} - I love this Jack. Country girl who grew up hunting wild game was always on the menu. My mom made the best squirrel dumplings. Fried rabbit with cornmeal gravy was another popular childhood favorite. When I got married we moved into bigger game. Venison is at the top of the list. Bear if it's prepared correctly is amazing. I've also had elk.

I'm with you on anchovies!!!! Another absolute no is dried fish. My daughter in law is from the Philippines. She has introduced us to be native cuisine. I love the adobo and Curry's not a big fan of octopus but it's not a hard no.

Rattlesnake to me was tough. But it could have been the way it was cooked.

Great blog!! It will be cool to read the responses.

Oliver Void(dom male) - Unusual: Scorpion in Texas, fried cricket in California. They're both crunchy. Crickets not bad. Congealed blood in California its alright.

Jack in the box -
Crunch, crunch, crunch, squish, lol
The whole blood thing causes quease for me ? although I know in many parts of the world it is on the menu. A staple even.
Thank you for participating my friend, and I hope you are enjoying your weekend
