So today started off with me finishing up installing the new floodlights around the house. First the one by the backdoor with camera to look over the backyard. Second just a floodlight mounted by the driveway to light up the vehicles. Third one on the other side of the house to light up the front yard. Now I already had on there but it was a piece of shit that hadn't worked properly since I installed it.
So while working on the second one I asked Hazel if she wouldn't mind going to the hardware store to get one. We have a local place that has a few stores in the area but not a chain store.
She returns about 15 minutes later and when she gets out of the jeep I can see it on her face she is pissed not just normal pissed but all of Greek ancestry pissed. I asked what happened and she proceeds to tell me while yelling about going back and giving someone what I would call a castration.
It seems she ask one of the store employees where the floodlights were, he just ignores her and walks away. She has to find them herself and the light bulbs to go with said light. Next she ask another employee where the mouse traps are. You see we have a mouse in the garage that I named einstein.
I first baited the good old fashioned wood trap with cheese, the little bastard took the cheese not setting off the trap. I baited it with peanut butter, he cleaned off the peanut butter never tripped the trap. Last time more peanut butter, totally coating the trip lever, that night hear the trap go off, open door peanut butter gone no fucking mouse.
So he looks at Hazel, then walks over to a gentleman standing nearby and ask if he needed any help. By now she's had enough and goes to checkout. She's standing in line waiting and the cashier tells the guy behind her to come on over and checks him out first before Hazel.
Three times in one store she was disrespected for being a woman I'm pretty sure. So I called to speak with the manager, got the assistant manager and it was a woman. I let Hazel tell her everything that happened and informed her that we would not be shopping in a place that disrespected women. She said she would look into it but I know damn well they just don't care.
It's sad to think that in this day and age racism, sexism, discrimination and a whole lot of bullshit still goes on. When in the hell are people going to finally grow the fuck up. How much time has to pass before people realize that we are all human and in this world together.
I only wish I had been there so I could have shown them what a pissed off Lion looked like protecting his lioness.
Lesson for any man who thinks a woman isn't capable of all the things they can do hasn't met the women I know.
