It was 41 yrs ago yesterday...

In memory of the death of John Lennon lets all take a moment to remember where we were (if we were) and sing along with one of the most beloved songs of all time.
John Lennon
10/9/1940 - 12/8/1980
RIP

ButterfliesAndCuffs(sub female) - Well I was only almost 3 years old so his death didn’t impact me at the time. A definite loss of an amazing talent!

LongerJohnny(dom male) - I was 13, sitting in my 8th grade math class, when the principal announced it over the school intercom.
I was already a huge Beatles fan at the time (and still am) so I was pretty upset.
In retrospect that is an odd thing to stop classes for but the whole world kinda stopped for a second so I guess no one questioned it.

ButterfliesAndCuffs(sub female) - Biggest tragedy I remember was the Challenger crash. We were watching in school and everyone was just shocked.

CelloCaster(dom male) - His sudden death affected me more than any other celebrities death. It truly took me by surprise how much I was affected. I wasn’t what you would call a humongous Beatles fan. I was much more into instrumental music. I had no idea how much his music affected me. I would put his first solo album after the Beatles simply called plastic ono band up as one of the greatest rock albums of all time. It was a very stark record. Mainly recorded with just piano bass and drums. He was undergoing Primal Scream therapy at the time and the songs are so stark naked just like the instrumentation. What’s really ironic is that it was produced by Phil Spector who was famous for his“wall of sound” recordings. If you’ve never listen to that album, I encourage you to do so

Morley(sub female){Max Sterne} - I was 9 and my Aunt was a HUGE Beatles fan. She cried and cried, and played this record (note record 😜) over and over again.

Very very sad then, and just as sad now.

May he RIP. ❤️🤍😘

LongerJohnny(dom male) - He was not my favorite Beatle, but the world changed that day.
(Oh, I remember LPs and 45s and 8-tracks and cassettes.)
