Big thanks to SensualDom for this awesome challenge!
Alice in Chains - Black Gives Way To Blue
Dedicated to original frontman Layne Staley. RIP.
Soundgarden - Black Rain
Ignore the ridiculous video. Or watch it because it's actually kinda funny.
Johann Strauss II - The Blue Danube (2001: A Space Odyssey version)
If you haven't seen this movie, first check your pulse, then go see this movie. The music plays over the closing credits.
Rainbow - Stargazer
About a wizard who uses slaves and forces them to build a stone tower so he can reach the stars.
For all my fellow music theory geeks - there is a huge section of the music that riffs on a harmonic minor scale which gives it a middle-eastern type of vibe. That modal choice underscores a story like Egyptian slaves being forced to build stone structures such as towers and pyramids, etc. Pretty ingenious!
