HGB​(sub female)​{Scottish M} - I am primarily left brain. I am more type A personality than anything to. I do have creativity and that type of thinking though. I believe I'm more submissive than anything but that's within a relationship that's not in that outside world full of idiots.

Literate Lycan​(dom male) - I would believe that I am both left and right brain leaning at times. I reason, apply logic and critically think when necessary. But I have a very creative, active imagination; appreciate colors and read emotions, as well as sometimes over-express emotions. LOL. In most areas I am Dominant.

Would you say that you're more often right-brained and "access" your left-brain when necessary, or does it kinda flip-flop between the two?

For me I think I’m highly creative - until I realize even in my fantasies I have to follow rules and structure and there are laws to it (even in fantasy such as magic and such, I would have laws and rules to follow). Probably always creative but always with reasoning, logic and critical thinking. Does that make sense?

Cressida Clytie​(masochist female)​{Taken} - Hello there! I'm quite not sure. I'm a critical thinker when it comes to work, I analyze number and over analyze majority of the situations. But, I'm also very good on face recognition and imagination. So might be balance of both?

When it comes to the personality, I'm very submissive. Even at work. It helped me with my promotion because I value structure and rules. Was never an Alpha. I'm just a follower.

That does sound like you might be fairly evenly balanced. Sometimes people are one or the other, lean a bit more towards one side, or have an equal combination of both; it's really interesting to see how common each of those are, at least within this community ?

For which side, I'd say 60 left / 40 right. I'm an INTJ, so all of the left qualities apply to me, but at the same time I'm a professional writer and photographer, so the bottom four on the right side apply to me as well.

For the roles, I'd say 60 s / 40 D. I'm an alpha personality and switch, so I can take on both roles. The way I divided it here is more of a preference though. Since becoming a middle with a bit of little, one who doesn't do Poly, being a Domme has been hard ... male sub's what female led all the time, not caregiver half. Don't blame them lol.

Preference aside, I'm wondering if my role ratio should be switched (pun intended) since I would consider the dominant role leaning more towards left brain traits. So, maybe they should match up ?

It's really interesting to hear it broken down like that. I can definitely see how personality type plays a role, but it's curious to see how a career/hobby (that is somewhat dissimilar to personality, like creative writing) can affect that percentage.

Your ratio for left and right brain is broken down the same as dominant and submissive personality, so would you say that there is a correlation between the two? As in, is your submissive side more left-brained and your dominant side more right-brained? You mentioned that your dominant side is more left-brained, so it's really interesting that you consider yourself to be leaning towards right-brained, but a higher percentage of submissive ?
Definitely something to get the brain (whichever side) thinking ?

Mama Bear JJ​(dom female)​{koa} - I'm fairly certain it's actually a 60 D / 40 s split, and that would match up with what I think makes sense in terms of left brain (more dominate) and right brain (more submissive). I think both sides can have traits from both, and most likely do, but in my opinion, dominants would lean more towards left brain traits than right, and vice versa for subs. I think that's true regardless of the gender on either side.

My choice to change from switch to submissive is solely related to my little monkey of a middle becoming a thing for me a year ago and that part of me, my middle space, not having any space in a dynamic where I'm in the dominant role. I tried and failed miserably. Personally I thought it would have been hilarious to have a middle bossing a sub around, telling them what to do, making them dress up, and do whatever else to entertain her lmao. The male subs here didn't see it that way.

My dominant side is still there, and probably still stronger, it just doesn't fit where I'm at and what I need form a partner right now. Since I currently identify as a sub, I put that as higher. Just a preference, not necessarily reality.

My Dear​{Trust} - Every time I take one of those tests it returns as close to center, sometimes slightly more left than right and vice versa. Personally I would put me as slightly more right brain.

I used to be a switch and can still step into a dominant role as a Top; but, while I occasionally/rarely consider being someone's actual Dom, not just their top (and then, it is only when I think that guidance, security, and someone to turn to would benefit them as much as the structure and discipline would, I find that my true desire is to not make that commitment of responsibility.
I am more at home as a submissive, and believe it is best at this time for me to stay in my lane.

As of right now, it's kinda hard to say, haha! It seems as though many people tend to be both left and right brained regardless of a dominant or submissive personality. There have been a few comments that may show a connection between a submissive personality and left-brain, which is interesting because I would have guessed the opposite =P

KingDom​(dom male) - I'm naturally right brain but had to learn to be left brain about a lot of things in life:mostly business etc. Left brain people are more into mental domination, lean towards being sapiosexual and its common for them to not want to drop their guard and be vulnerable.

Mama Bear JJ​(dom female)​{koa} - I'll second the mental domination part being a left brain thing. That is something that was essential to me both when I was a Domme and now as a submissive. I need it, not want NEED, when it comes to both general thinks and when it comes to my kinks and fetishes.

For left brain thinkers, as well as INTJ personalities like myself, there has to be a mental challenge, stimulation and/or trying new things, in order to maintain interest in a situation or relationship, otherwise you get bored really fast and you won't be satisfied when it comes to anything.

I hadn't really thought of people having to learn to be left or right brained, but it certainly makes sense why those traits would be necessary in certain aspects of life.

aliljaded​(sub female) - I am definitely both. I speak three languages plus English as my first. Critical thinking is going on all the time with me. But, my left side takes over a lot to remember things like faces, music, and art. Plus my emotions come from that side so yes I would definitely say I use both sides. Great topic, btw.:)
