Hear, hear! Give me set up! Give me context. Show me the care for their sub! Where's the after-care?

I can usually tell how much
bdsm porn someone is watching by
how they communicate to me.
I think some guys pretend to have a lot of experience but in reality they have
just watched a lot of videos.

This happens too often in all camps..... Doms, Dommes, subs, switches, everywhere.... like the over-excited puppy tripping over it's own feet trying to reach the attention it wants.

The strategies for successful commerce knows no bounds nowadays. I think most videos are produced for the purposes of click-bait, and the producers really have no sense of style -- in fact, I think many don't even particularly like what they are doing. I knew a BDSM model and she suggested the same thing--just a way to make money--not much different than operating a hot dog stand. Or to put it the way an artist I know said, 'The commercials are actually the 'content' of the videos. They are commercials meant to keep people involved so they stay tuned when the 'official commercials' come on.

Its interesting so many members of the bdsm community feel that bdsm porn doesn't represent bdsm

The thing is, BDSM porn is not what it professes to be, and people who view pornos as educational vids are not the Connoisseur of Kink they aspire to be. The reason is the same for both: This is porn after all. It's not real. It's fantasy.
BDSM porn is the kink equivalent of a cheesy romance novel, wherein flaming white horses and long flowing tresses are replaced by studded riding crops and bejeweled nipple clamps.
BDSM porn is the back room sticky-nickel embodiment of The Village People. Sure there is some toe-tapping, chum-scrubbing, booty shaking fluffer fodder to be had but no one actually believes that the cop is wearing a real badge.
(aside: Until this very moment I have never used the phrase "toe-tapping, chum-scrubbing, booty shaking fluffer fodder" and I desperately pray never to use it again.)
To those who know better BDSM porn is 50 shades of complete bullshit distilled down to a happy, cliche ending. And those who don't know better don't care because it's engaging, exciting, escapist crap that rarely happens to themselves (or anyone else.) That's why is doesn't have to be accurate; why it doesn't need scenes or communication or intimacy or aftercare; why the movie was still a huge success. It's not real and absolutely none of us wants it to be - we who know better and they who never will.
Now on to the funny exception...
I was involved with a sub who loved gangbang porn because it was a fantasy that she had not at that time fulfilled. She gleefully suspended her disbelief with a dismissive "yeah, yeah, RACK and rolling, whatever, and.... orgasm!" She totally got off on it.
So now the question is, if it is that effective even to someone who suffers no illusions as to its reality then who are we to say it isn't legitimate?
At least someone got an authentic happy ending.
