BDSM Porn Sucks

Back in the day, the BDSM porn sites like Jay Edwards and bondage-pictures had class and style. It was IMHO art (fuckable art). Today's porn has no restraints (pun intended), and caters to getting the most clicks, views, or comments. Each shoot attempts to one-up another, and we end up with stuff like rubber clad German dominatrix's double fisting up to the shoulder. I find it all quite disturbing and less-and-less satisfying, or even informative.

I think what this does is lessen the intimacy and real impact of what BDSM relationships are capable of. I mean, if every Femdom strapon ends with the Domme jacking off the subject to a cumshot, well, that's just jacking them off. You might as well paint the subject blue, jack them off, and call it a Femdom Blue-ing. There's so much more to be experienced, rather than just let the porn industry competition for clicks influence us.

I have always been an admirer of Jay Edward’s work.
Stylish and classy.

As someone new to BDSM and kink I wish that some of the stuff would show more of the scene set up, show interaction and CONNECTION. Am I viewing a “funishment” or can they share or hint as to what occurred prior to the viewer clicking into the action on the screen? Sure I’m keen on seeing how people use various tools and apparatus, how people can be flogged, caned, and bound, etcetera but, I’d like it even more if you showed me the Dom/top checking in somehow with the person they are working on. Show me how they BUILD a scene or situation, show me that give and take and again that connection, and then show me aftercare. Show me what happens when the tools are put down and the dominant or top take the submissive or bottom out of their physical bondage and the viewer then sees the spent submissive/bottom curled up on the floor in the fetal position or sprawled out in bliss unable to move post session.

Oh my goodness! I'm new to this lifestyle and I have no idea what I am. I'm a bisexual female and my husband is straight. I guess I'm trying too hard to label myself. I hope this doesn't sound stupid or not posted in the correct forum. I like girls and men. I don't think I'm totally submissive but I'm not totally in charge either. I would appreciate any help anyone could give me. Thanks in advance

This is why I don't watch porn and why so many vanilla guys who are interested in being with me or the bdsm aspect cross reds and triggers constantly then claim its what they thought bdsm was because that was what they had seen....smacks head against desk .... repeatedly.... your still with a beeping human. Oh and most of it as a woman looks painful....and not in the good kind of way.

Should it even be called bdsm porn.... much of it i consider kink rather than bdsm because of the lack of connection and limits and so on...

To me porn takes the most important part out of connection, I.e, relationship. It’s acting something out that I think needs to be real.

I will second that TSG.
I don't get into "porn" because it's missing the most important part..... the connection with the other person. It's like going to a bar for a hook-up vs having a great intellectual sparring match with someone who knows you well.
Give me the sparring match on any day ending in Y. Much bigger turn on for me.

Agreed. They are missing the art of bonding before the dynamic, the connection and communication, the intimacy and energy, AND aftercare. It is kind of scary to think how porn like that can teach their audience, who just came across the videos, on a misconceived notion of BDSM. It seems to just perpetuate the "50 shades of grey" abusive culture...and misrepresent what BDSM truly is.

Sad.
