I am pretty new to experiencing corner time. My Master puts me in it to clear my mind, and think only of him and his power over me. Many times I use it to pray for him and his daily needs when I'm there. I have never yet experienced it as punishment. I made a corner out of foam core because all the corners of my house are filled. Also lately I have been told not to move while I'm in the corner. I sit with legs spread, head down, and naked. Often I find that I need some things within reach while I'm in the corner. Such as my phone so he can instruct me (we text message since we live about 5 hours apart.), kleenex in case my nose has a problem, some water since I'm Diabetic and need to stay hydrated (lately I've been in the corner for about 30 to 40 min.). Also sometimes the cat wants attention while I'm sitting there. And I have degenerative arthritis in my neck, so at times I have to adjust my position because my bowed head gets heavy. Corner time does have a tendency to clear my mind of all the daily stuff and influences that we are bombarded with daily and focus on my Master.

So I was wondering what other types of corner time others have experienced and do you have to have some things in reach like I do. Have you encountered any adjustments you need to make or interruptions to deal with while you're in the corner? Or anything else you want to comment on such as how it affects you. Looking forward to reading the answers.

Never been in a dynamic so never corner time.

But I wanted to write that I admire your dedication to this shit, especially since it is a remote dynamic, 5 hours apart, so it's basically on the honor system.

Of course easy for me to say in that I am a masochist / kinkster, not a sub, so hats off to you.

Hypothetically, if a dom tried to tell me to do that I wouldn't even lie about it. I'd tell the dom (if it's a guy, of course) to go hump a cactus.

Hahaha . ... well most of what he tells me to do Miki are common sense good things and habits to form. He's younger than I am but I get the sense that he is also more experienced in life, bdsm, and sensitive to his slaves/subs needs. So it's no problem for me to obey him. I lived a life-time watching my mother turn my dad into a slip of a man. I always wondered what he could have become if she had appreciated him and supported him. He had many talents and when they both died, my dad refused to be buried with my mom because he was afraid they would fight in the grave. So .... when a woman finds a good man, it really benefits her to build him up and obey. Not blindly, but with knowledge of who he is and respectfully giving him feedback when he needs it if she thinks he's wrong. So, it's a dance like everything else.

I had a corner time punishment in my rule-book, but it was only for particularly distressing offensives in which she knew would be followed with brutal bondage/flogging later that day/evening.
The purpose of the corner time was to put her in a space where she could do nothing but reflect upon my displeasure for her breaking the rule, and give her time to anticipate the biting pain of the stinging flogger.
I only used corner time as a behavior modification tactic. Kudo's to your Master for having the idea to use corner time for something more positive (without the need to use it for punishment).

I've only heard of corner time as punishment LordofPain. So it surprised me that he would use it like this, but it makes sense. And he was careful to let me know what he was using it for and to stress that it wasn't for punishment. I appreciated that.

Like anything else, it's an eye of the beholder thing. It does tend to be a penalty most of the time, but for some, such as yourself, it's quite different.

Incidentally, the last time I was ever sent to stand in the corner was kindergarten.

IDK if they do this in all kindergartens, but where I was enrolled, at some point in the day it's Art Time and Teach would give each kid a 2x2 square of construction paper with a dollop of Elmer's Glue in the center for use on the projects.

Well, when the class adjourned to the eating room (Can't call it a cafeteria because everyone brought their own snacks and the school supplied the milk) So to finish, I went back into the "classroom" and tossed every little square of glue against the wall or on the windows. I could hear back then, and OMG that hen of a teacher blew a gasket at me.

Later in my public school career this transferred into tossing those hateful "butter pats" onto the lunch room ceiling, which was the acoustic shit.

As the base of the "pat" of butter was white, they went unnoticed for a few hours, then there was an ever growing "wet" spot of butter grease where the shit contacted the ceiling panel. More than enough time for a clean getaway.

.... And by then I honed a fine reputation of being the serious, studious Asian chick, atmospheres above all suspicion.

So it could be said that by the time kindergarten rolled around I was a brat. The thing is, it never went away.

Even now, a smear of Crisco on the occasional door handle at work can be discovered by an unsuspecting hand. But not without purpose. They had a habit of letting the napkin dispensers go empty so whoever got the greasy paw had to go into the can and use ass paper. Alas, the shithouse was a ways away, so I guess the guy pioneered the Crisco Shuffle.

After a few palms got greased, suddenly, napkins were always replenished and they added two or three to boot.

I find myself in agreement with LordOfPain56. Although I never experienced it in any kind of BDSM sense, it does follow that "the corner" is a good place to contrmplate what lies ahead.
