Okay, so I have been googling good strap ons because I anticipate I will need one in the near future.
However google is just a robot and I figured I can literally just ask people.

So for a beginner what kind of strap should I buy?
Should I test it out first to see if they will like it?
Does the color matter? 😭
Should I get an expensive one?

Any feedback or help would be very much appreciated! 🥺 a girly needs help

I personally like the harness kind. You might have to try out some to see how you like them. Some are bulky for others and perfect for someone else's body. And then I'd get a variety of sizes for the dildo. That's the fun part is just getting all the different sizes. Hehehe. You can also let your partner choose because everyone is different in what they like or what brings them pleasure there. It's also fun to get your partner involved and excited for it too I feel.

There are some Adam & Eve stores that have knowledgeable and friendly staff. If you don't feel comfortable walking into a place you might have to do some purchases/returning through Amazon or Love honey I've heard is pretty good with returns. Anything I've bought from them I haven't needed to return but I've heard others say they like them for that.

There are harness free ones, I personally don't feel comfortable with them. It just didn't work for my body type.

Harness ones worked best for me. But do consult the future recipient to get her input. (Or his-- I'm just writing from my own experience as I only humped other women, not into pegging dudes)


And on the receiving end I loved getting fucked hard with a strap-on with less emphasis on length (though always nice) but more emphasis on girth and either ridged or bumpy. Those sent me though the ceiling every time.

As for walking into a "toy store" one really ought not be "embarassed"--- consider the employees.. they sure as hell don't mind being seen working in those places.

As for Amazon and all that, you can get those there and make sure it's in a plain brown-wrapped box. No sense having the fucking postman deliver a box with a display picture of the thing on the outside and a likely blah on the box, "Your nights are about to get a whole lot better!" But of course I'd think they all ship in the notorious "discrete brown paper-wrapped box"--- But be sure to make sure.

I never did look into the "returns" aspect. Probably only if the toy is still in its original wrapping inside the mysterious box , unopened as in Partner sees it and decides it won't fly. Otherwise I wouldn't think they would accept returns (except in cases of manufacturing defects) that were used, regardless of how much one clams they sterilized the thing.

Ohh, yeah, the asshole postman.. A lot of not-naughty things come in those plain wrapped boxes and bags but the fuck still gives me a greasy smile if I happen to be around when he delivers it. Sometimes what I'd give for a small dog with very sharp teeth.

(Most already know, big dogs are scary but little dogs will shred your ass in no time if you piss them off)

For me the most important part is the got on me and whether or not you can get the correct angles and such. My favorite is from a company called RodeOH, and I like the brief panty style. They come with an extra pad that will help with comfort and angles. I’ve had some poorly made harness styles and they just didn’t feel secure enough.

I recommend going to a fetish/kink leather shop if you want to go with a harness. They will make it to your measurements. Buying a cheaply made one on Amazon or whatever might tell you what you’d want differently in a quality product and you can get a custom made that will fit great.

As far as dildos to put into the harness, that’s such a personal thing. Talk to your partner or shop together. Again, quality is important. Get something that is body safe and phthalate free… no one needs what can happen otherwise. Size, length and shape is subject to both the giver and receiver. Trial and error will come into place with both the strap and the dildo.
