The General Musings of a Sane Madman

Follow me on my journey through life, love, a mild addiction to Cherry Coke, and possibly even BDSM. This may be a bumpy ride. Hold on tight!

Hello again, dear reader! How are you on this cold as balls Tuesday? Are you staying warm? Are you getting enough sleep? Are you drinking enough water? I’m calling bullshit! Go get some water. I’ll wait.

**A short time later**

Welcome back! I have to take care of my loyal readers! So I need you to stay hydrated. Don’t argue, or as God as my witness, I’ll bring you over my knee!

Not sure threatening readers is a good way to build loyalty, however on this site, the prospect of a spanking might.

Anyway, on to the topic of the day. Music. Music is very important to me. I love music. The beauty in the guitar, the mellow rhythm in the bass, the methodical beat of the drums. It’s all so good. Add in a vocalist that can bear their soul in the song and you have my undivided attention.

I love music. Specifically rock music. I feel that it’s really the most emotionally driven and relatable music for me. I can’t relate to rap, I don’t own a truck so I can’t do country, pop is just a joke at this point, oldies has good music but typically not as emotionally gripping for me. I know people will argue that all of those genres are equal to or better than rock. And for you, it 100% is. I won’t hate on whatever it is that moves your soul, because if it’s music, it’s doing it’s job.

I have always wanted to learn how to play an instrument. I wanted to learn bass for a while, then guitar, then drums... I can’t sing so that’s not happening. But I want to be able to make music. Even if it sucks. As long as I’m creating, and having fun, then that’s what matters.

But to get a little more personal here, what songs speak to you, reader? I know people have had multiple challenges regarding music. And this isn’t that. But what song moves you? Is there a song that when you hear it, it brings you to tears? Does a song give you goosebumps even though you’ve heard it hundreds of times? Is there a song that gets your blood pumping and adrenaline going?

I will share a couple with you today that just get me and have an emotional impact. The first one, I’m sure a lot of people will know because it was everywhere for a while. But it is arguably the best cover song ever done. In my humble opinion.

I’m just throwing links out there. I haven’t tried to post a video here, and I’m not typically a forum kind of guy that has all the knowledge on what I’m doing. Deal with it. It’s my chaos! And we will let chaos reign!

Song two is one that a lot of people will remember. But it’s one that I had all but forgotten about until recently. It’s a great song that now has a lot of meaning to it. So... enjoy!

Ahh... music! I love it! Tell me what songs move you, reader. What gets the blood flowing and the head banging? If you have any good recommendations, I will gladly take them, even if not in my usual musical taste!

I hope you all have a rocking’ day full of good tunes, good vibes, and maybe another glass of water! Don’t make me come find you to make sure you’re drinking it!! I’ll do it!!!

Literate Lycan(dom male) - I love that version of Sounds of Silence! I like many genres of music and have grown to enjoy and respect many over the years that I didn’t when I was younger. I went through stages on rap from when it first made the scene through it’s gangsta years to the art it can be today (and some drivel). I also wasn’t a fan of classic until I matured and was able to detect the subtle nuances of notes and the emotions they invoked. Sadly, I am now able to realize much more than I did when I was younger- but at least it’s not too late. Many, many songs whether with lyrics or just notes can bring up intense emotions in me - heck the score from Legends of the Fall can do a number on me. Queen as well as Bryan Adams (almost most of their works) can rock the emotional spectrum. And Lords of Acid can definitely pump the blood!

Cozubia(dom male){She’s Mine} - Legends of the Fall has an amazing score. That’s a good call. And Queen is a favorite of mine. I haven’t heard anything by Lords of Acid. I’ll them out! I appreciate the recommendations! You’re a gentleman and a scholar!

NorthBelle - Wow guys, Legends of the Fall??... I thought I was such a nerd when I purchased that CD soundtrack so many years ago...it is indeed so beautiful. Cozubia, do you play any instruments on a regular basis? I love hearing what what songs move people, for me currently its Critical Darling by Slipknot and Midnight Sky by Miley Cyrus...I love her lyrics in the chorus, its helping me get through a tough time right now. And of course the Knot is always helping me through dark times 😊

Cozubia(dom male){She’s Mine} - I don’t currently play anything, although I’m going to see if I can get back into trying to learn something. Likely guitar since I have one already. Critical Darling is a good one. Corey Taylor can just do almost no wrong with what he writes! A couple of his Stone Sour songs almost made the list because they just hit differently.
