A Warm Welcome
Hypnosis is a widespread topic, but not because of what it really is. Everybody knows about the film and stories in which hypnosis is used as an evil magical or supernatural force that instantly takes over the mind of the victim. Oh, and of course a pocket watch and spiral are mandatory.
By my sarcasm, you might have already guessed that what those films and stories portray is far from the truth. But because it has been used in such excessive amounts over the years as an evil weapon or twist in a story, that it has almost become common "knowledge" that hypnosis is exactly those cliches that such films and stories depict. Which in my opinion is very sad and makes it even harder, to tell the truth. Because hypnosis is such a wonderful and amazing tool, but each day more people fall victim to the false knowledge and cliches presented to us.
This is exactly why I want to show and explain the truth to open people's minds to the reality.
This post is about what hypnosis, the state of trance, truly is. A second will follow explaining the truth about what is possible with hypnosis.
So, what is Hypnosis? A magical and supernatural way of putting someone is a state of mind where the subject is completely and mindlessly obedient, right?
Surprise, that's very far from it. Hypnosis, the state of trance in which you are guided is actually one of the most common states of mind there is, if not THE most common. Each day, you enter it hundreds of times without even noticing, in fact, you're in it right now. Indeed, you are currently in a trance. Though no worries, you're not being hypnotized in any way right now. Because the state of Trance is nothing more than a state of focus most often combined with relaxation.
When you closely listen to someone, when you drive your car, or commonly, when you read a book. Those are all examples in which you fall into a state of focus, a trance. Such trances are usually very light and go by without ever being noticed in any shape or form. But think back and remember, maybe you were reading an intriguing story or an interesting article and you were so absorbed in it, that when you looked up again, you become aware, that you didn't notice anything going on around you, only what was happening in your story or article.
This feeling, this experience, is a trance. And hypnosis helps to guides you into this state of mind.
Now you might question, maybe films and stories overdo it a little bit sure, but what about stage hypnotists where it doesn't seem only like a state of focus, but a sleep-like mindless obedience?
First, let me say that most stage hypnotists are good people, professionals and that they have my respect for their abilities and knowledge. But they help societies cliches grow, no matter if intentional or not, which makes me have a certain dislike for what they are doing.
To make it clear from the beginning, hypnosis and the state of trance, is no sleep. Why do subjects close their eyes during hypnosis then? Imagine it this way, if you want to closely listen to music, then instead of looking around the city, you will close your eyes and blend out as much as possible so you can focus only on the music. And that's exactly the same for hypnosis, you want to focus on the voice guiding you into a trance as closely as possible, which is why most often you will see hypnotists guide their subjects to do so.
While in trance another aspect is important to know along not being asleep. Returning back to the example with listening to music. When you close your eyes and listen to the music, you will of course be aware of what you are listening to, maybe even every note. Because of course, you're focusing on the music, so of course, you will hear it and be aware of it. And trance is no exception. During trance, the state of focus, you are at all times aware of what is said to you, what is going on and what you are doing.
Both things, not being asleep and being at all time aware of what is going on, is the same for stage hypnosis. Though be honest, seeing such a show would not be very entertaining, which is exactly why stage hypnotists use the common spread cliches and make them look extravagant. Often it's also forgotten, that those stage hypnotists are excellent at reading people, with only some very little tricks they know which people make great subjects and therefore a good show. Sadly all of that depicts a very wrong and unsafe image of hypnosis.
Hypnosis, once understood what it truly is, can be used for so many wonderful, beautiful and exciting things. Because you know you are safe, you know you will have a pleasant experience, you know it's real. Just imagine you could get an insane amount of motivation for a workout only by listening to one file. Or how about being turned into a pet, and I don't mean roleplay, truly experiencing becoming a pet. Or cumming on command? As long as you can imagine it, you can experience it in a safe and wonderful environment. Which in my opinion is the most amazing addition to a BDSM relationship and even outside.
All of this might come overwhelming and be confusing, that's perfectly normal. Which is why I welcome you to ask your questions in the comments, there are no stupid or wrong questions. I am happy about each and every person which I can help.
I hope you enjoyed part one, and I will soon talk about the possibilities with hypnosis in part two.
I wish you a wonderful and enchanting day
