Heart Adrift
I thought I'd found him,
But it wasn't true.
In time I realized,
I was looking for you.
A you who is kind,
compassionate
and true,
I wonder if you,
are looking for me too?
Approach me normally,
and a bit formally,
Don't treat me like meat,
As though you're
constantly in heat.
For my heart is adrift,
On an uncharted sea,
It will take all your skill,
To lay claim to me.
Don't drop your anchor
too soon or I'll flee,
Steady as you go
will impress me.
I'll hear your actions,
louder than your words,
Plan your approach
determindely,
But without
tangled cords.
If your heart is true,
My heart will see,
With the purest of effort
You shall have me.
