The Culture that has been here all the time

When I was introduced to BDSM relationships, I realized they had existed probably for all of human history. Religion and Western Culture distort this and BDSM itself greatly, and if anything, an incredible hypocrisy is always present. Using codes and euphemisms, even denial can mask the fact that many people thrive within this often unrecognized subculture. For example, my wife had all the earmarks of a pleasure slave and was generally devoted and submissive to me. In times of marital friction, I often heard the words from a counselor, "She just wants you to love her." "Love her," I thought I was, and now I know without a doubt I need to be a Dominant, not some preconceived idea that we are to live as equals: we are not only one can be a Dom and one a sub at a time, but, it is perfectly fine if switching is desired at least now and then.

In the early 1950s, every Friday, some of the family would go out for fish (except Dad, who ate a hamburger). For many decades, I tried to discover the Tartar sauce we had. It is unbelievable, but seventy years later, I discovered that the Tartar Sauce I liked had Dill in it. I thought it was the mayo, then the capers, the brand; yes, I found a brand with capers and enough dill to taste it.

I never gave up, and it paid off, LOL.

In 1964, I, along with several friends, put our foreheads on a lampost on W 4th Street, NYC, near the Night Owl cafe. As strangers passed by, they ignored us or asked to join us. This may have been the most fantastic example of meaningless behavior I have ever participated in.

We laughed a lot and I suppose that was the redeeming characteristic.

Well, readers, not to rehash too much, but if my children were willing to help, I could solve several challenges. My son has a pickup, and he could help me empty the self-storage unit, saving me $185 monthly. The next need would be to sell this two-story house and buy a single-story home in a senior community to allow better care for my wife. She had a falling issue until I gate off the stairs.

Not at all. There are beautiful and handsome devils lurking in our midst, from the beautiful snake portrayed in The Garden of Eden to Krampus prowling around the European streets at Christmas, shadowing Old Saint Nick.

Good seems always to have a bad counterpart. In times that are good, we may forget this, but during dreadful times, we tend to ignore this. It is in those trusting moments we are vulnerable to the stratagems of villainous human-like creatures who masquerade as people.

Be alert and be aware, especially as the season of joyful holidays inches our way. (all images from pixabay.com)

Well, my readers, it is time to review the Kama Sutra's wisdom again. This serves as a reminder that the "science" of making sexual love is very ancient, and this reference  was written by:

Vātsyāyana was an ancient Indian philosopher, known for authoring the Kama Sutra. He lived in India during the second or third century CE, probably in Pataliputra (modern day Patna in Bihar). The language was most probably Sanskrit, the literary language of ancient India.

offers this information:

The Kama Sutra's three sizes of male and female genitalia:
Male Kama Sutra Sizes:
1 Hare (Small)
2 Bull (Medium)
3 Horse (Large)
Female Kama Sutra Sizes:
1 Deer (Small)
2 Mare (Medium)
3 Elephant (Large)
Despite the animal-based names, this book makes a really interesting point about genital size, and it’s not just in regards to penis size, as western culture so frequently focuses on. The Kama Sutra acknowledges and accepts that there are just as many shapes and sizes of vaginas as there are of penises, both in length and girth. As a female, this is a somewhat refreshing viewpoint. It gets really old to hear people obsess over their penis size, when it’s not any more complicated than determining vaginal size (in fact, it may be simpler to ascertain).

Variation can be seen in the explicit sex sites like BDSM or even Porn sites.

Since there are many variations in Western culture, prospective mates are expected to wait for marriage to discover their partner's endowments (at least officially), and preferences are difficult to establish. However, in the realm of BDSM, that is much less a challenge for several reasons. Inhibitions are discouraged, and experimentation is encouraged, among other factors.

What counts in the opinion of most people I discuss this topic with is how each individual uses their sex organs and their mindset about the entire experience.

All the versions of the Kama Sutra that I scanned include illustrations and descriptions of positions and behaviors.

I.E. The Modern KamaSutra Kamini and Kirk Thomas Marlowe and Company ISBN-13-978-1-56924-309-1 I HAVE NO VESTED INTEREST IN THIS VERSION OR ANY OTHER VERSION.

Hey blog readers, no matter which news source you view or read, there are more controversial stories than tales with happy circumstances or happy endings. Most of you will agree that this propels higher readership or ratings, which means greater revenue for the owners.

The dire circumstances reported seldom affect more than a minority of people in a very concrete and assessable reality. The vast majority of sensationalized news is intended to evoke an emotional response in those who consume it. Can it affect how we behave? Perhaps, but its most significant effect is how we feel about everything. Our mood?

So peace versus war, famine, politics, healthcare, and the economy probably change very little on any average day, week, month, or year. What we believe or perceive throws us into a mindset and resulting mood. This can affect our behavior in several ways: seeking a better place to live may be our desire to find a safe place, which is the most disruptive.  Is there a truly "safe" place?

Life is moving at a faster pace than ever before. Think of the agrarian lifestyles of the past. Add the seemingly boundless bombardment of information and choices we face each day. A relative of mine chose to live off the grid, and all was fine until a health issue lured him to trust modern medical technology. Change and adapt.

I believe we can educate the next generation of humans to navigate this maze we have created and live better and more tranquil lives.

Blog readers, my life is pretty messed up, as you have learned from my past writings. I will never find a way to a better life on my own. And I still refuse to give up caring for my wife, although she is getting harder to care for every day.

Whether it is a fantasy or a pipe dream, I believe the right woman can join me and help me devise a plan for a better future. As many people like to say, nothing is impossible, and I want to believe them. I did have an FWB for a short time, and my wife was happy to have her as a friend and "playmate." For those of you who agonized about that experiment, the worry was for naught, and when I decided it was best to send her out to a new adventure, my wife missed her and was upset for a few days. Fortunately, dementia helped her put that behind in the past.

Things resumed as before. Immediately, the cold wind blew through my home each night when I tucked my wife into bed and binged on television until there were no episodes I had not seen of my favorites. When I opened the door to let the dogs out in the backyard, tumbleweeds and a sand storm passed through the yard, as I experienced in Tucumcari, New Mexico. During the day, I heard vultures circling above, and a screech owl blared a warning during the night. I expect apparitions to drift back in the moon's light anytime. It sounds like a D minor chord when the wind blows, giving me goosebumps.

Yes, I was wild and prone to do any number of acts to please the people I invited to my parties.

In Germany, I had a big house, so I put together a big costume party. It was a great success, though I must admit I got a little carried away. I invited about 40 people, and maybe 50 actually came that day and night.

I dressed in a completely authentic Dracula costume and went around biting all the ladies' necks. Some liked it and didn't want me to stop. Then a thunderstorm came up, and we were on top of a mountain, so the wind and rain were really fierce. No problem.

I went through the basement, stripped, and let the rain shower me. I am a real crowd-pleaser and didn't get hit by lightning.

Back then, there were parties in castles and at breweries, and during fests, I had a tremendous decadent time.

In several versions of Star Trek, the Star Treckers encounter "The Borg"1 and are threatened with being assimilated into their collective telling them resistance is futile. That is Science Fiction, yet I have learned that historically and even in contemporary times, there are examples of people being assimilated into systems, movements, or circumstances where resistance is futile. Most of you won't have to seek long to discover examples of this, so that I will continue instead with our BDSM lifestyle juxtaposition.

Resistance is not futile when a Dom or Sub agrees. The complete opposite is true. Some lists can be used to zero in on mutual interest, even if that includes a willingness to experiment. Contracts and guidance exist here at The Cage. Consent is vital, and the futility to comply is more than just a "no-no." It has the potential to break laws.

There is no excuse for ignorance. Just read and comply according to well-established protocol.

Blog readers, do you believe "It is better to act and apologize rather than ask for permission"?

I worked under a supervisor who used that as one of his mottos. He was prejudicial and critical of women in leadership roles, primarily where we worked. He often ignored their orders and did as he pleased, using his motto as a defense.

This is the citation for the concept (Google AI presents it nicely):

This phrase means that it's often more effective to take action first, even if it might require an apology later, rather than getting bogged down by asking for permission beforehand, which can lead to delays or potential roadblocks; essentially, prioritizing proactive action over bureaucratic processes.

Key points about this saying:
Attribution:
This quote is commonly attributed to Rear Admiral Grace Hopper, a pioneering computer scientist known for her innovative approach to problem-solving.

Context:
This saying is often used in situations where quick decision-making and initiative are valued, especially in leadership roles.

Caveats:
While taking action can be beneficial, it's important to consider the potential consequences of not asking permission first, especially in situations where approval is crucial or where actions could have significant negative impacts.

What are your thoughts on this philosophy?
