A Minx - 🤔 Hmmm ×2... there are scam apps out there that can steal your personal information and, yes, even online bank account money once downloaded, if you do not have the app they want you to use; PULEEZE do your due diligence on this!

Especially, if it's an 'out of the blue' contact or you do not know that person. I don't care how kind they may seem, I would say be very wary of downloading any app because 'someone' is tantalizingly dangling a nearby Dom in your face - I think the Poo Meter is at high alert on this one! Take care and please remember to always trust your gut!

I personally would not download any app some random person requested.. I don't download anything without checking and re-checking, especially, if you don't know this person, I would exercise caution..as I mentioned previously always go with your intuition and stay safe.

A Minx - So sorry about my rant there dear SG, Blondie only mentioned a "different app" (which she may already have). It just freaked me out to see her post, unfortunately fraud is so much a part of life these days and wish that wasn't the case. A relative recently had >$20K sucked out of an account due to a scamming device, the work done to recover money, tamp down feelings of absolute violation and working with authorities and credit companies was massive!! I'm only trying to be a proponent of cautiousness in most things online. I would not wish any heartache on anyone (well, read that as most people) in this community! 😇

I'mME - At the end of the day, these scummy scammers have infiltrated every space online. That tells me it's lucrative, I have not seen any numbers but let's say out of 10 people that they try scamming out of money (let's face it, it's always about money) they manage to actually scam 2 people. That could add up very quickly.
I was scammed off of a YouTube commercial about three weeks ago. A wifi booster paying the shipping. I finally received the booster, noticed the lack of information on shipping receipt but I thought it it didn't work, then the seven dollars was a wash. A few days later during my 2-week check of my bank account, there was a charge of $82.45 for a Off Road Bicycle something. I immediately called the number, and got a supposed 3rd party customer service company. After trying to get information from this rude (I'm sure part of the scammers network) she says she 2ill cancel my subscription. 😳 I replied, so you will be refunding my money to my account. She said, NO, we don't give refunds. Without hesitation, I replied, you will be doing this one B____, then I said "Lady you lay down with dogs you wake up w fleas. I hung up.
Afterwards I thought, what subscription? 🤷
I called back the next day, and I'm pretty sure I got the same person on the line. I said, my next phone call is to my bank, so she said she would need to check with the company. She was back in less than 30 seconds, with an offer to give me 40% back. No is what I said, then I was offered a 70% discount for my family to use the store. I asked what store, lol and NO. This is where it gets good, she tells me it's a recorded line and tries to strong arm me with the following. We will refund your money, if you agree not take this any further. I thought WTH, these people have lost their minds. So I reply with, "Yeah, sure, whatever!"
I repeated my dog quip. End of story, correct? Nope. I miss a text message from my bank asking me if I tried a charge of $59.04. (bc of all the scummy scammers who send garbage, I only glance at my texts every other day or so) %hey block 5h3 card until 5h3y hear from me, so it was only when I tried to get gas, card wouldn't work, and I check my bank account. I see that charge with a different business name beside it.
So all of that created a situation where I had to get a new card. I called them people back and it was useless trying to communicate with bc they are scummy scammers, but I did get a name for the supposed store that I had signed up for subscription.
I googled that and pages and pages of people that had complained popped up. I read a few of the complaints, all similar stories. Someone buys something small and no S/H fee. The amounts were varied, but seem to hover around $100, and every single one had at least one more attempt at charging another amount.

I asked the bank why didn't they catch the first one, I didn't get an answer.

I apologize for the long story, I wanted people to know that no space is safe. As far as I'm concerned Google is YouTube and as such they support scummy scammers.
