Had an eye exam yesterday, while I stood in front of the receptionist wearing a bandana looking like an old cowboy robbing a bank I explained how I was immune deficient and how my beautiful wife didn't want me out anymore than necessary. In between exams I sat in the waiting area talking with another gentleman about how things had changed, stores with no food, empty isles where toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies among other things used to sit waiting for a customer to buy them. He said it makes you think hard about and I finished his sentence with how delicate life is, he agreed. Just 4 short months ago we all were living life as usual, going to work, shopping, out for entertainment, getting our kink on with never a thought that the entire world would change to this extent. My local city was already under a stay at home rule but as of midnight the entire state is on lockdown, no unnecessary trips out only to buy essentials. I grew up in a time when stores closed by 5pm and nothing was open on Sunday except hospitals and maybe gas stations then the blue law passed and now you can get just about anything you want 24 hours a day 7 days a week. But over the last few weeks it's eerily similar to those times, stores here close at 8pm sharp, restaurants haven't been open in weeks except for drive thru or carry out and they close early, streets are almost deserted, only essential people out or someone making a food run. Watching the news, you get a sense of fear, panic, and sadness as life becomes more intense as the days go by seeing the number of infected rise along with the death toll, seems like watching a futuristic movie where people are used for some gruesome entertainment while someone places a bet, giving them limited supplies, and control to see if they can survive. One thing in particular I find interesting is, remember when they invented the game where everyone sitting at a table in a restaurant eating dinner trying to be sociable and the first person to grab their phone had to pay the bill. Makes you think God or some devine intervention, maybe nature is forcing us to slow down a bit, stay at home, quit running full speed ahead, enjoy life, enjoy family and friends be more sociable in our lives, see all these numbers as human's that we didn't take the time to get to know because we're wrapped up in being anti social or on the phone. Something so small it has to be seen with a microscope is taking down something as big as the world as we know it. Life is delicate, so cherish everyday with the same wonderment a child has discovering something new. To all please be safe, prayers and best wishes in these uncertain times. Lion and Hazel eyes. 🦁😊
