Advice for navigating the site? STRESSING

Hello!

I'm pretty new here, at least in terms of trying to actually use the website vs when I first made the account a couple of months ago. I'm still trying to figure out what I'm supposed to be doing on here, I guess. I've been getting messages, which is nice. But it feels like everything happens so fast. One minute I'm having a normal conversation and the next they're immediately trying to move into being my Dom or establishing rules with me, taking it off the site and what not. I feel a little bad, because sometimes I get overexcited and play into it before I realize It's all going toooo fast. Embarrassed to sound a little helpless here, but I've just never had a Dom before, and I don't really know how to sus out who I should be spending my time talking to vs who is just trying to get some quick pics and immediate control with literally no established trust. Of course I'm interested in eventually finding a Dom, but friends and like-minded folks were part of the appeal of the cage too! Just curious if there's a better way to find and get to know people, even just as friends, besides sifting through dms?

Might be a vent more than anything. Might be overthinking it.

But hello!! icon_biggrin.gif

Some enlightenment on setting boundaries and navigating connections:

You know what you want—a genuine connection to see where things go, without games. It is your profile, your life, and your rules. To Respect your boundaries, and if someone approaches you disingenuously, you have every right to decline, wish them well, not answer, or block them and report it.

Over time, when respect is established after six months, you own each other but still own your self also . I know they say the dominant owns you, but in reality, no book says that. In reality, a partnership is a bond shared between two people, like a lifestyle. It wouldn’t be fair if only one person doing it all. No one can force you to stay if your feelings change, if there’s abuse, or if you’re just doing it all you have right to your feelings. But if they’re good to you, a different story. You both must work to rebuild the bond, like you did the first time you met. Try new things, nothing that hurts or forces you, but out of care. Someone who’s single and not attached will have time, no hang-ups, or disappear. That’s why they can’t meet down the road.

No one should rush you. Building a real connection takes time, balance, and mutual respect. If someone does not respect your boundaries, let them go. A solid foundation takes time to develop through meaningful conversation.

Key principles to keep in mind:

- Intentions: Look for friendship and connection built on real depth and effort—not forced, fast-paced games or superficial motives.
- Pacing: Genuine relationships develop slowly over time. Jumping in too quickly rarely lasts. Real connections show up through consistent effort, checking in, and treating you with care.
- Boundaries & Safety: Protect your privacy and share details only as trust is earned. Keep interactions safe, modest, and respectful.
- Mutual Respect: You own yourself and deserve to be treated like a human being. Respect, safety, and clear communication are non-negotiable. If those are missing, there is no reason to continue.
- Balance & Self-Care: Do not pour all your energy into online interactions. Maintain your personal life, routines, and goals. The right match will align with your timing and respect your space.

Respect and trust are earned through time, effort, and care. Focus on your peace, hold standards, and let any connection grow naturally those who make feel calm not a headache. Many people will come to you, but weed them out. Be bit selective; choose someone who sees through you, not your body, but for your mind.

Anyone trying to rush you into anything isn't a dom, they are more than likely a predator, particularly trying to get you off the site, and if not that then more than likely a fuck-boi, which again isn't an actual genuine dominant. You can report people to the site admin, such as Villanelle, or report the profile with screenshot of what has been said.

My advice, read the blogs, forum posts, take part in the chat room, but maybe closing your inbox might be wise, to filter out the idiots, and circling sharks, at least until you have learnt enough to be better up to filter the rubbish, from the sound info/preople. I would also seek out the submissives guide website and you tube channel, Luna's info is very good and will help you.

Another thing to consider is that even after six months, dating four more seasons of dating without rushing to move in would take a year and a few months. If they take you out in public, don’t hide yourself; see their friends and family in the future. This is the kind of partner you should have. No one should be asking you to bark or show nudes in the early stages or later if they can’t keep their mind with respect. No further conversation if it’s just games. Growth shows when a person masters themselves through discipline. Be mindful of your feelings; is this the life you want to be in? Do they make you feel calm, not a headache? Background checks are important, and both parties should have been tested before engaging in any activities. And exchange of pictures should be no games; only voice and cam talk. Fully clothed when exchanging pictures, and if they come on camera, they should speak the same language. Ideally, they should be dating you, acting as a connection, and spending time together, such as going to dinner, movies, and fairs. However, someone who comes off as disinterested and only shows up when they want you, or who suggests sex meetups instead of playdates, is not establishing a future real relationship. They are just wanting what they want and nothing real, just games.

A genuine real connection is different. Someone who shows up to listen, be there for you, and take everything and baggage you both bring. They heal and share life with you. It requires real intimacy skills, not just built on a sex trap. Be upfront when your feelings become real. They say cam broke it’s a scam, the photos don’t match the voice or person. Use Google to see if the photos were stolen. The photos look older than 20 years, not 2026, something up! They only send videos, not want to cam or talk, red flag. No one can force talk on cam or voices; trust must be established first. Anyone making excuses to drag you to another site or asking money, saying they love you right away, saying their wife died in a plane crash, needing money for you to give them to come to you, is an old romance scam. Don’t fall for it. Don’t share your kids or pictures with some weirdo creeps. I suggest waiting until your feelings grow more, but say something like, “I have family down the road to be safe.”

Fixed was on my phone re-write. Another consideration is that even after six months, dating four more seasons of dating without rushing to move in would take a year and a few months of meeting in real living together for few weeks through months going home back and forth think about it first. If they invite you out in public, don’t hide you ; see their friends and family in the future. This is the type of partner you should have. No one should be asking you to bark or show nude photos in the early stages or later if they can’t maintain their mind with respect.

No further conversation should be had if it’s just games. Growth is shown when a person masters themselves through discipline. Be mindful of your feelings; is this the life you want to be in? Do they make you feel calm, not a headache? Background checks are important, and both parties should have been tested before engaging in any activities. And the exchange of pictures should be no games; only voice and cam talk. Fully clothed when exchanging pictures; they speak the same language ideally. Ideally, they should be dating you, acting as a connection, and spending time together, such as going to dinner, movies, and fairs.

However, someone who comes off as disinterested and only shows up when they want you, or who suggests sex meetups instead of playdates, is not establishing a future real relationship; they are only seeking what they want and nothing real, just games.

**Genuine Real Connection:** The difference lies in genuine connection. Someone who shows up to listen, be there for you, and take everything and baggage you both bring. They heal and share life with you. It requires real intimacy skills, not just built on a sex trap. Be upfront when your feelings become real.

**Scams to Watch Out For:**
- **Broken Cam Scam:** This scam involves someone claiming their camera is broken, but the photos don’t match the voice or person. Use Google to check if the photos were stolen. The photos appear older than 20 years, not 2026. They only send videos and refuse to cam or talk. Red flag: No one can force you to talk on cam or voices establish trust first. Anyone making excuses to drag you to another site or asking money, saying they love you right away, claiming their wife died in a plane crash, or needing money for you to give them to come to you is an old romance scam. Don’t fall for it.
- **Sharing Personal Information:** Don’t share your kids or family with someone you don’t know well. They may be creeps and wrong people trying to twist things even some of your own as their own. Only show a little bit of a smile, some full-body clothes, and glasses. Keep it safe. I suggest waiting until your feelings grow with respect and trust more before sharing personal information. You can say something like, “I want a family down the road, but not just anyone but not right away .” You’re not a live in , or maid or just for sex more for real deal Connection Partnership! Some people may require a ring do to there belief not set in stone but before anything know one wants get hurt it lied to. But a ring to know being worthy not a game. Does have to be a lot but some craft and hand work was not someone else’s. Know one wants to be live in girlfriend or be lied to. If here only for one for one only to be with one. No poly or couples should be forced if only one for one. Just saying just sharing what you feel by is your own so be it.

Nobody is entitled to your attention. Participating in this community is already being willing to put yourself out there more than most people online. You deserve to engage with people who make you feel safe. Especially when we’re talking about potentially granting them a lot of power over you.
