Hey all! I've been run down terribly by allergies since last Saturday. They just won't let up. I live near the great lakes so our weather has been tossed back and forth between the 30s and 60s. I think that may be the issue? No clue, I'm not well versed medically. 🤷

Anyhoo, I've tried so many different kinds of medicine, nothing seems to be working. Does anyone out there have any suggestions of things to try? If so, please comment. 🤒😷

TakenLower - Sorry that you’re sick πŸ˜• Steam helps, but it’s only temporary!

CrimsonPaw - I actually haven't tried that yet! I'll take a temporary fix at this point. Thank you!

Curlyniccia{Protected} - Local honey. As the bees make honey from the plants/flowers avaikable at the time. By eating honey regularly you body becomes adjusted to allergens which otherwise would make you react.
My daughter has asthma and its affected by allergies especially spring time. She has honey daily and it has been working.

CrimsonPaw - Like.... Adding honey to tea? Or just taking a teaspoon of it? 😝 Doesn't sound appealing, but I'll give it a shot :) thank you

Curlyniccia{Protected} - Adding honey to anything. I have honey with lemon water every morning. My daughter has it in her cereal.

CrimsonPaw - Sounds doable. Thank you 😊

Curlyniccia{Protected} - You could always make it into a hot toddy, add some spices and some brandy and orange juice and heat it with some honey. Helps you to sleep and is amazing. Good for cold.

Thecharmedmuse(switch female){My Wildman} - I like the above mentioned suggestions! My go to upper respiratory regime consists of the following stuff:
1. Raw honey, lemon juice, and apple cider vinegar (with the mother) warmed and consumed throughout the day
2. Homemade chicken soup with plenty of garlic.
3. Something with mild curry in it.

CrimsonPaw - Thank you! I'll try some of that :)

WEAPON X(dom male) - If its a cold or flu dring about 2 shots of whiskey and go to bed it will help you sleep and heat your insides up then runs it out of your system

CrimsonPaw - Thank you X. It's allergies, but I'm willing to see if it'll have the same effect it does on a cold or flu πŸ˜€

IbelongtoSir(sub female) - Sinus flu, using a Nettie pot and add local honey to coffee/tea whatever every morning.

CrimsonPaw - What's sinus flu? Also, I've heard great things about the Nettie pot, but I'm so scared to try it lol but I think it's time haha I'm desperate

SchrodingersDinosaur(switch female){N/a} - I'd recommend the nettie pots too, although I can't personally use them. I've seen them work wonders for others. Always makes me feel like I'm being waterboarded. Not a kink of mine! I'll glom onto the local honey, vinegar with mother (might have to go to health food store, sometimes reg stores don't carry. I personally use Bragg's, but there are other good ones.), and curry or other spicy dishes. The pollen is really bad down here this year, worst the doc said she'd seen yet. I've already decided if it's this bad next year I'm going to have the allergy shots done. A pain in the ass there, but so is walking around with nose dropping and smeared eye makeup because my eyes are running. NOT a good look!

CrimsonPaw - Allergy shots are still a thing? I'll call the doctor and ask about them. Thank you :)

Miss Tia(sub female) - Nettie pots are awesome!

IbelongtoSir(sub female) - Yes they take some time getting used too, my first couple of times I panicked! Thought I was drowning!
Allergy shots work too, just along process to get them started.

CrimsonPaw - Might be worth the process. I'll call and check with the doctor. :)

HGB(sub female){Scottish M} - Above great especially local honey. If bad I hear when you come home immediately change and shower so your not dragging around the house. Pay attention to pollen reports for your area see what's moderate to high whenever you are at your worst. You will likely see a correlation and can find better suited remedies. Good luck. Oh good quality tissue no cheap stuff. Not during time of need.

CrimsonPaw - Oh my! Good quality tissue isn't discussed enough! I never realized how picky I am about what gets swiped across my nose! πŸ˜†

DominantUnique - Sinus rinse although like others have mentioned it might seem like waterboarding, but it definitely helped me with my allergies when i felt like shit, but I have also used the Raw Honey in green tea, that seems to help well also

CrimsonPaw - Thank you, hopefully I'll feel some relief soon.

Miss Tia(sub female) - I lived in Upper Michigan on the bay of Green Bay.....I dreaded the cottonwood season😣 . Raw honey, nettie pots and benadryl

CrimsonPaw - The only thing I haven't tried was the Nettie pot. The thought scares me lol but, I think it's time I try.
