Sometimes it’s necessary to give up what you want more than anything in order to do the right thing. The problem with doing so is that sometimes the situation would prefer to keep you involved. That’s when you have to create a new situation that eliminates that desire. If you do it right and do it well nobody will be the wiser.
The bridge has been successfully burnt to cinders. It sucks. But it had to be done.
