There will be no goodnight

No anticipation

No soul soothing minutes of video chat

No whispered words

No pleasuring

There will only be the quiet screaming into the night

Restless sleep with dreams of what ifs

Awakening in the dawn light to nothing

Yet again the mercurial quicksilver of a relationship runs between my fingers

A vow broken

A time of recovery, a time of reflection
