Discussion on Reddit about the things people tend to find horrible/gross/a turn off etc. Main things seemed to be a lot of the stuff we, as kinksters enjoy.

Now obviously, being kinksters, that's what sets us apart from 'vanillas'. But do you agree with some of the comments? Do you think porn portrays abuse of women these days, for example?

Any other comments? Just interested in the views

The ones I saw referring to abuse and such are... idk, they seem to be talking more about abuse of the porn actress rather than abuse as a kink. There's a comment about James Deen being an asshole, comment about girls clearly crying in pain/discomfort (in presumably non-kink videos?) and some other stuff like that. That all seems reasonable to me as being unfortunate.

But yeah I do think porn portrays things poorly. Dudes that aren't interested in the nuances of BDSM pick up ideas from vaguely bdsm-oriented videos and then apply those things in real life assuming it's what girls are expecting. That's always been an issue with porn though, no? False expectations?

@Knightsundere Absolutely. I think it does give the wrong impression for sure. And most people know it isn't meant to portray 'real life'. However, what my thoughts were going towards were younger adults, viewing it and potentially thinking this is how it be. That *all* women want this, all people should want *x, y and z*...because this is the sex lol

There are documented cases of models/actresses being severely abused in the sex industry - it's pretty common knowledge. And yet, it still happens, which is disgusting. This I think is the far more disturbing thing about porn than anything else.

Also, going through the comments, many replies were:
'spitting - gross' me: it's on my yes please list, ok I'm gross!
'fisting - wtf, gross' me: ok, chaos, gross again!
So it just shows how we *seem* to be worlds apart from the vanilla peeps. Jeez, I'm never going back. I'd rather be celibate...

As far as porn in general, I love different kinds of porn. It's porn though, it's not reality, they don't show what the ladies do behind the scenes to get ready to have a 10 inch cock in the wazoo.

People confuse entertainment for real life. Although I am not sure the porn is the "problem" if they confuse that two.

Porn lies.

I think porn has skewed what people expect when getting into bdsm. Enjoying bdsm is gradual growth. Efukt has a series of “bad boyfriends” videos of dudes videoing themselves abusing the hell out of their girlfriends and thinking they should like it. Stars like Rocco Siffredi are seasoned pros and porn starlets film with them to increase their exposure. The girls know what they’re signing on for. I recently watched a documentary on kink and porn. I highly recommend it to everyone. It's called "Kink" and came out in 2013. We've all seen their videos before.
It's eye-opening and interesting. Especially the ending where a woman is asked a question and she goes silent on it.

I don't think porn should exist anymore. As it's grown worse over time. More violent and more abusive. Women aren't getting rich from it either. Slapped, degraded, and spit on, just for $100.
There's a famous fetish porn company that takes advantage of women who are desperate for money. They beat the living hell out of them. Then when the woman begs them to stop, someone walks over and offers her twice the amount of money to keep going. They're somewhere in the UK.

There's a lot of manipulation and abuse within porn. Plus underage and human trafficking. That's why I quit watching it years ago.
